Good Company: A Vocal Ensemble is a mixed ensemble of some thirty experienced singers dedicated to the study and performance of music from the chamber choral repertoire. Our size and clarity of sound lend themselves well to the performance of madrigals, motets, and other intimate vocal forms from various style periods.
While many of us hold degrees in music or perform professionally, most of us are engaged in professions other than music for our livelihoods. Motivated by a passion for choral music, we share an interest in programming and casting a more mature light on a repertoire which is rarely heard outside of an academic setting.
Since 1995 we have established a regular concert series, incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, and released two CDs, A Rose E'er Blooming, and From the Heart which are available at the group’s concerts. We have traveled together to perform at the GALA choral festival in San Jose California, and locally, we have been invited to sing at the The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, The Cleveland Gay Games, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. In May 2016, we premiered “Night Prayer,” a piece commissioned for Good Company and composed by David Conte. We are honored to announce that our live recording of “Night Prayer” will soon be used by the publisher to promote the work.
Good Company is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501.c(3) organization. As such, it is administered by a Board of Directors elected by the membership of Good Company.
